Pregnant women glow and shine with beauty so it seemed fitting when Sara wanted to do maternity photos and a boudoir session. So what if she was six months along, she felt sexy and wanted to do some boudoir.

She wanted some photos with her bump and some where it wasn’t as noticeable. So we used smart angles and good lighting and shot away. Here are a few of my favorites from the day along with a few shots of her little bump.

I want to say THANK YOU to the folks at Gulfshore Life for recognizing my work. Boudoir photography is complete empowerment for a woman because she looks at her photos and says, “I am beautiful.”

Sometimes it is hard to feel beautiful in this modern world, so the fact that I get to spend my days making women feel this in themselves is a true treasure.

Boudoir photography is a great gift for yourself or someone you love.

Give your partner the gift of you!

Boudoir photography is a perfect gift for Valentine’s Day.

I capture flattering, artistic images of you with a woman’s eye. All of my clients tell me how nervous they are to do boudoir and how relaxed I make them feel after just a few minutes. Before they know it the session is finished and they are left with beautiful images for a gift, or to keep for themselves. The black book package includes Photoshop touch ups, disk of images and small black album. I also offer any size of album, print, canvas, folio, uniquely-designed CD case for disk and any other type of product you would like. Just ask!

Sam and I wanted to create a vintage, pin up, beach, boudoir shoot. I had the idea of this shipwrecked girl stranded with only her lingerie trunk,

I knew the perfect beach, but that getting my must-have 1940s trunk the 1.5 miles to the site I wanted was going to be tricky.

Luckily Sam was up for the challenge. The day before the shoot I strapped my trunk to our big-tired yard wagon and dragged it down the path, through the woods, behind the beach. Success!

On the day of her shoot, Sam bravely hiked through mosquitoes (carrying her stilettos) to the spot on the beach.

It’s my favorite beach to shoot, write and find peace with the world.

Thanks Sam! You totally rock!

Andrea wanted to create a sexy pinup boudoir look for her husband’s birthday. As a working mother with small children, she doesn’t always get time for herself. She spent the morning in the salon with hair and makeup artist Angela Cox and then had a two-hour boudoir photography shoot with many different looks. In the end she said the day became as much of a present for herself as for her husband because she got to feel beautiful all day. Whenever she is feeling unglamorous she can pull out her photos and smile. Here are a few of her shots from the day.

Kudos to Angela Cox for creating Andreas gorgeous vintage, pinup look.

Carla wanted to give her husband-to-be something special. So, she gave him a boudoir session of herself.

She left the photos for him to find the morning of their wedding.  I’m sure Carla was on his mind all day!

blushing bride boudoir

I’m a woman who every day sees a million images of woman who look more beautiful than I am. And I love that. I love finding that piece of beauty in myself that makes me unique in this crowded world and letting that shine.

That is what I love about boudoir photography. I love meeting a nervous woman who is doing these photos for herself or her husband or her lover and doesn’t know what to expect. I love seeing the thing that is beautiful within her come pouring out in her photos. By the end of the shoot she is amazed that she has been posing nearly nude for two hours and that the time is gone. She is empowered and glowing and has had so much fun.

And then, when I hand her images of her gorgeous self, she is stunned by her beauty. I hear so often, well you can just Photoshop that out. And I say, ‘of course.’ But, 9 times out of 10, there is nothing squeezed out or airbrushed, because her sexy personalty came through and combined with good lighting and angles that made her shine, she was stunning perfection.

It’s an amazing feeling to make a woman feel really beautiful. Boudoir photography is for women of any age and any shape. The reasons women call are numerous, many need a confidence boost, either from a divorce, illness, having lost a lot of weight or just want to spice up their relationship.

I started doing boudoir 3 years ago because there weren’t any women doing it in Southwest Florida. As a wedding photographer our brides were looking for female boudoir photographer to photograph them for their husbands-to-be. Many wanted to give groom’s gifts of boudoir photography.

I started looking into boudoir and thought, “wow, that looks like so much fun!” I began The Blushing Bride Boudoir. Then I added Little Black Book Boudoir so that my studio has two faces and serves all women, bride-to-be or not.

I needed some backdrops and fun props to add to my studio, so I began scouring antique shops and found some great pieces.

Later when we moved back to SWFL and began running our wedding photography business, NarrativeImage, out of our home instead of a studio space, I put a pause on the boudoir business. But, I missed doing it. So, now I work in people’s homes, in hotel rooms or on the beach. My camera goes any place that makes a woman feel sexy.

I’m a mother, a wife, a photographer, a writer, a designer, a sister, a daughter and a friend. There is nothing better than having a woman look at her photos and say, “wow, I am so beautiful!”

Meg runs her wedding photography business with her husband Jason. The two have been working weddings as a couple since 2006 and tell love stories through their photos. Learn more at www.narrativeimage.com.
