Sam and I wanted to create a vintage, pin up, beach, boudoir shoot. I had the idea of this shipwrecked girl stranded with only her lingerie trunk,

I knew the perfect beach, but that getting my must-have 1940s trunk the 1.5 miles to the site I wanted was going to be tricky.

Luckily Sam was up for the challenge. The day before the shoot I strapped my trunk to our big-tired yard wagon and dragged it down the path, through the woods, behind the beach. Success!

On the day of her shoot, Sam bravely hiked through mosquitoes (carrying her stilettos) to the spot on the beach.

It’s my favorite beach to shoot, write and find peace with the world.

Andrea wanted to create a sexy pinup boudoir look for her husband’s birthday. As a working mother with small children, she doesn’t always get time for herself. She spent the morning in the salon with hair and makeup artist Angela Cox and then had a two-hour boudoir photography shoot with many different looks. In the end she said the day became as much of a present for herself as for her husband because she got to feel beautiful all day. Whenever she is feeling unglamorous she can pull out her photos and smile. Here are a few of her shots from the day.

Carla wanted to give her husband-to-be something special. So, she gave him a boudoir session of herself.

She left the photos for him to find the morning of their wedding.  I’m sure Carla was on his mind all day!

It’s an amazing feeling to make a woman feel really beautiful. Boudoir photography is for women of any age and any shape.

I started doing boudoir 3 years ago because there weren’t any women doing it in Southwest Florida. As a wedding photographer our brides were looking for female boudoir photographer to photograph them for their husbands-to-be. Many wanted to give groom’s gifts of boudoir photography.

I started looking into boudoir and thought, “wow, that looks like so much fun!” I began The Blushing Bride Boudoir. Then I added Little Black Book Boudoir so that my studio has two faces and serves all women, bride-to-be or not.

I needed some backdrops and fun props to add to my studio, so I began scouring antique shops and found some great pieces.

Later when we moved back to SWFL and began running our wedding photography business, NarrativeImage, out of our home instead of a studio space, I put a pause on the boudoir business. But, I missed doing it. So, I convinced my husband to let me turn part of our house into a studio and I’m loving it.

I’m a mother, a wife, a photographer, a writer, a designer, a sister, a daughter and a friend. There is nothing better than having a woman look at her photos and say, “wow, I look so beautiful!”
